How it works

How the referral process works.

Start with a new residential service need and the property ZIP code. If a participating provider is available, you may be connected to discuss the request directly.

1

Describe the service need

Share the service category, what is happening at the home, and whether you are authorized to make the service decision.

2

Provide the property ZIP

Availability can depend on the service type, ZIP code, provider participation, operating hours, and capacity.

3

Discuss the request

If coverage is available, an independent provider may discuss its own diagnosis, estimate, schedule, credentials, and terms.

Home Service Compass

  • Publishes general residential home service information.
  • Collects voluntary request and location details.
  • May route an eligible call or request through a referral partner.
  • May receive compensation for a qualified call, referral, or transaction.

The independent provider

  • Identifies its business and explains whether it serves the property.
  • Controls its diagnosis, estimate, pricing, schedule, terms, and work.
  • Is responsible for its own licenses, insurance, employees, subcontractors, and warranties.

The homeowner

  • Provides accurate information about the property and service need.
  • Verifies the provider's identity, credentials, written scope, pricing, and terms.
  • Decides whether to hire the provider. There is no obligation to purchase service.
No appointment guaranteeA call or form submission does not guarantee a provider connection, appointment, arrival time, estimate, price, or completed service.

Start with the service category.

Choose the closest category, then share the property ZIP code and a short description.
